The Internal Revenue Service, or IRS, is a bureau of the US Department of the Treasury. In 2015, they collected almost USD$3.3T in revenue, spending just 35 cents for every $100 it collected. As the USA's tax administrators they not only collect taxes but also administer the Internal Revenue Code, provide assistance to taxpayers, and pursue and resolve instances of fraudulent or erroneous tax filings.
