Federal Trade Commission

An independent agency of the US government established in 1914, the mission of the Federal Trade Commission is to promote consumer protection and to eliminate and prevent anticompetitive, deceptive, and unfair business practices. The FTC is divided into three bureaus - the Bureau of Consumer Protection, the Bureau of Competition, and the Bureau of Economics.
